The 16th Annual MPO Peter Lavery Memorial Ride is being held on Sunday, September 20th, 2020. This ride is in memory of MPO Peter J. Lavery who was killed in the line of duty on Dec. 30, 2004 while responding to a domestic violence call. It is an event that honors the sacrifice he made, celebrates his life and love of motorcycling and keeps his memory alive. MPO Lavery was an avid motorcycle rider throughout his adult life and was proud to be selected to serve on Newington Police Department’s motorcycle unit. More information to follow.

Please understand that for this year, no food or liquid refreshments will be provided. We will be implementing all requirements from the State of CT to keep our riders, volunteers and supporters safe. As of the final days of August, 2020, we are limited to 500 people in attendance.

Registration starts at 8:00 a.m. and the ride departs at approximately 10:00 a.m. Riders will have a police escort throughout the ride. Enjoy the ride, but no after ride festivities will be offered this year. Feel free to ride on as the ride concludes.

The new 2020 T-shirts, our challenge coins, pins, bracelets, etc. will be available for sale at Churchill Park on the day of the ride.

For additional information on purchasing a shirt after the ride, please check out our Facebook page: MPO Peter J. Lavery Memorial Run

You will not see any flyers, posters, banners being hung, or newspaper articles, radio interviews being done this year. A flyer is available to print on this website.
