| MPO PETER J. LAVERY MEMORIAL RUN2014 Peter Lavery Memorial Ride Thanks
The 10th Annual Peter Lavery Memorial Run took place on Sunday,
Sept. 21, 2014 at Churchill Park in Newington. Despite the early
morning rain, aka Liquid Sunshine, a couple of hundred bikes came
out to ride, escorted by many police motor units from throughout the
state. This event would not have been possible without the
tremendous amount of support and assistance from family, friends and
local businesses. Newington Police Department, Newington Parks and
Recreation and Newington Volunteer Fire Departments also assisted in
			so many ways.

We are very appreciative of the generosity of the sponsors who
donated their resources, time and staff to help us out. Stew
Leonard’s provided lunch following the ride, a huge grill and staff
to help with the cooking. Brown Development Inc. and their crew of
volunteers took charge of the cooking and serving details. Starbucks
Coffee of Main St. Newington donated the coffee. Nick Gallicchio and
his staff from The Bar and Grill in Newington provided other
refreshments. Mark Christopher, from Shark Entertainment provided
the music. Pat Whelan from the CT State Police Pipes & Drums played
the bagpipes, followed by Susan Lavery Hilerio singing our National
Anthem. Trantolo & Trantolo, LLC helped with pulling the permit for
the ride route, advertising and ride day promotions. Reality
Workwear Corporation printed the t-shirts for us. Keri Egan
Greenblatt designed the flyers, and Pronto Printer of Newington,
Inc. printed the flyers and posters. General Paving and Construction
Corporation, Sirois Tool and Grady Automotive made very much
appreciated monetary donations. We also receive support from Sign
Pro, Inc. with the sponsor signs and the Drain Doctor who helps out
with their services on the Ride Day. Mickey Finn’s Honda of Berlin,
Connecticut Police Supply of Newington and Gengras Harley-Davidson
of East Hartford sold t-shirts. Donny and Gina Lavery set up a booth
and sold shirts at the Newington Extravaganza in addition to helping
			with many other tasks.

This year’s t-shirt design was selected by the committee from the
many entries to our contest, and was a very fitting design for the
10th Annual Peter Lavery Memorial Ride. Many thanks to Jonathan
Cloutier of Newington High School, Class of 2014 for designing the
shirt front and Aaron Jay of William H. Hall High School, Class of
2014 for designing the shirt back. Thanks to Claire Wyman, of
William H. Hall High School for designing the artwork for the
banners, road signs and sponsor signs. Remember 2523!

It means so much to have the support of so many people and
businesses in our community who sponsor this ride in a number of
ways, who come out to ride their motorcycles, volunteer at the ride,
buy a t-shirt, watch the riders pass by on the road, many waving
their arms and flags in a show of support and remembrance or by
making a monetary donation to the Scholarship Fund.
A Heartfelt Thanks to all who sponsored, volunteered, participated,
made a purchase or donation or watched the ride go by!! Hope to see
			you all next year!

2014 Peter Lavery Memorial Run shirts can still be purchased at
